Zometa is a medicine to treat high levels of calcium in blood caused by cancer. It is also combined with some other medicines for the cancer treatment. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to bisphosphonates. The medicine reduces bone breakdown. It decreases calcium released into blood from the bones and decreases the blood level of calcium.
