Xpect is a medicine to decrease chest mucus and relieve cough (unproductive) associated with hay fever, flu, or cold. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to expectorant and cough suppressant combination. The cough suppressant makes the brain to reduce cough reflex and dry cough. The expectorant thins phlegm (lung mucus), so it is not so sticky and is easy to cough out. Thus, cough becomes productive.
