Generic name: Diltiazem
Tiazac is a medicine for chest pain (chronic stable angina) and high blood pressure. It may be taken alone or combined with certain other medicines. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to calcium channel blockers. The medicine relaxes blood vessels, decreases high blood pressure, and decreases the heart rate, thus, lowering the heart workload. It also increases the flow of blood to the heart, thus relaxing the coronary arteries.
