Salmeterol is a medicine to prevent/treat asthma (long-term). It is used to prevent problems with breathing in some patients with breathing problems due to exercise, nighttime asthma or some other disorders. It is used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease symptoms (COPD), such as emphysema and chronic bronchitis, on a long term basis. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
