Rheumatrex

Generic name: Methotrexate

Rheumatrex is a medicine to treat some types of cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, or psoriasis (severe). It may be used alone or combined with certain other medicines. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.

It refers to antimetabolites. It treats psoriasis and cancer by preventing the enzyme necessary for the growth of cells. This helps to decrease the spread and growth of abnormal skin cells and cancer cells. The exact mechanism of how it treats rheumatoid arthritis is not known. It reduces rheumatoid arthritis inflammation symptoms, including pain, stiffness, and swelling.
