Respiratory Syncytial is a medicine to prevent serious infections of the lower respiratory tract associated with RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) in children who are under 2.years of age and having premature birth history or chronic lung disease (bronchopulmonary dysplasia). It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to immune globulins. It increases the immunity of the body (short-term) to the virus. The medicine becomes effective quickly but its action lasts 1 week to 3 months only.
