Questran is a medicine to lower blood cholesterol. It is used together with a proper diet. It relieves itching due to biliary obstruction (partial). It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
The medicine is a bile acid sequestrant or anion-exchange resin. It promotes the elimination of bile acids. It replaces bile acids by converting blood cholesterol to bile acids. This lowers the level of cholesterol in blood.
