Qual-Tussin is a medicine to relieve the symptoms of runny nose, sinus congestion, sneezing, throat and airway irritation associated with colds, allergies and also infections of upper respiratory tract. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to expectorants, antihistamines, and decongestants. The decongestant constricts blood vessels and reduces the nasal passages swelling, thus relieving breathing difficulties. The antihistamine blocks the histamine action, thus reducing allergic symptoms including sneezing and watery eyes. The cough suppressant makes the brain to decrease the cough reflex and reduce dry cough.
