Persantine

Generic name: Dipyridamole

Persantine is a medicine to prevent blood clots formation following the heart valve surgery. This medicine may be combined with other medicines, including anticoagulants (warfarin). It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.

It refers to platelet inhibitors. The exact mechanism of its work is unknown. The medicine increases adenosine level, thus reducing the activity of platelets and widening blood wessels.
