Parlodel is a medicine for Parkinson disease, some conditions due to excess prolactin in the blood (excess breast milk production), menstrual disorders or abnormal body parts growth like acromegaly. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to dopamine agonists. It stops prolactin release from the pituitary gland, and also decreases hormone levels in acromegaly patients. It affects dopamine receptors in the brain (in Parkinson disease).
