Panitumumab is a medicine to treat spreading of rectal and colon cancer (having metastases in other body parts). It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to monoclonal antibodies. It binds to a protein found on cancer cells (EGFR, endothelial growth factor receptor), thus treating cancer. This helps to decrease the spread and growth of cancer.
