Nitrostat is a medicine to prevent/treat sudden chest pain (angina) attack due to the heart disease. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to nitrates. It may work by relaxing and widening the body blood vessels. Angina occurs when more oxygen is needed by heart than it can take. This increases the blood flow and decreases the heart workload. It also decreases the amount of oxygen necessary for the heart to relieve chest pain.
