Generic name: Gabapentin
Neurontin is used to treat seizures caused by epilepsy. It may be used to relieve nerve pain caused by postherpetic neuralgia (herpes zoster infection). It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to anticonvulsants. Exactly how this medicine works to prevent nerve pain and seizures is not known.
