Natalizumab is a medicine to treat multiple sclerosis (MS) relapsing forms. It slows the physical disability worsening and decreases the number of flare-up symptoms. The medicine is used when other MS treatments do not help or cannot be used.
It refers to monoclonal antibodies. The exact mechanism of its work is unknown. It affects brain and blocks inflammatory cells, thus promoting the slow down of MS progression. The medicine is not a cure for MS.
