Mepron is a medicine to prevent/treat Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP) when patients who are not able to take trimethoprim and sulfamethoxazole. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to antiprotozoals. The exact mechanism of its work to stop the protozoa growth is unknown. It may affect the protozoa metabolism by decreasing or blocking its growth, thus helping to fight the infection.
