Mefenamic is a medicine to treat menstrual pain. It is used as a short term (up to 7 days) treatment of pain (mild to moderate). It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to NSAID. The exact mechanism of its work is unknown. The medicine blocks certain body substances connected with inflammation. NSAIDs treat pain and inflammation symptoms only. They do not treat the disease causing them.
