Maxitrol is used to treat bacterial infections in the eye and associated symptoms, such as irritation, redness, and discomfort. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to the combination of corticosteroid (dexamethasone) and antibiotics. The antibiotic slows the growth or kills sensitive eye bacteria. The corticosteroid decreases inflammation.
