Librium is a medicine to treat anxiety and alcoholism withdrawal symptoms. It is also used to decrease anxiety and fear prior to surgeries. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to benzodiazepines. It may work by slowing down brain chemical impulses. This helps to decrease muscle spasm and anxiety (nervous tension), and has a sedative effect.
