Lescol decreases high triglycerides and cholesterol in patients. It is also used to increase good cholesterol levels (called HDL or high-density lipoprotein). It is used together with a proper diet. The medicine is used to slow the blockage of blood vessels and to reduce medical procedures for the opening of blocked heart blood vessels. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
The medicine refers to HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (called statins). It reduces certain fatty substances production, such as cholesterol.
