Kaopectate is a medicine to treat diarrhea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, nausea, or overeating and overdrinking disorders. It is also used to lower the bowel movements frequency and make firmer stool. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to salicylates. The exact mechanism of its work is unknown. It may limit the digestive tract secretions, decrease the stomach and intestinal inflammation, and suppress the growth of viruses and bacteria causing intestinal diseases.
