Generic name: Isosorbide Dinitrate
Isordil is a medicine to prevent chest pain (angina) symptoms due to the heart disease. It may be used alone or combined with other medicines.
It is NOT used to treat acute angina attacks.
It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to nitrates. It may work by relaxing and widening the body blood vessels. This increases the blood flow and decreases the heart workload. It also decreases the amount of oxygen necessary for the heart to relieve chest pain.
