Ipratropium is a medicine to prevent and treat difficulty breathing/wheezing (bronchospasm) caused by COPD (obstructive pulmonary disease symptoms), such as emphysema and chronic bronchitis. It may be taken alone or combined with certain other medicines. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to anticholinergics. It opens and relaxes lung air passages (bronchial tubes), making breathing easier.
