Intron-A is a medicine to treat hepatitis, lymphoma, leukemia, genital warts, including condylomata acuminate, and some AIDS-related disorders, including Kaposi sarcoma. It is combined with surgery to manage skin cancer, including malignant melanoma. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to an interferon. The exact mechanism of its work is unknown. It may help the immune to eliminate viruses and tumor cells and reduce their reproduction.
