Inspra

Generic name: Eplerenone

Inspra is a medicine to lower blood pressure and improve survival in patients having had congestive heart failure after the heart attack and  ventricular systolic dysfunction. The medicine may be combined with other medicines. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.

It refers to mineralocorticoid -receptor blockers. The medicine blocks aldosterone. This dilates blood vessels and decreases the retention of sodium and fluid, thus reducing blood pressure and preventing kidney problems, heart attacks, and strokes.
