Infliximab is a medicine to decrease symptoms/signs of rheumatoid arthritis (moderate to severe). It may be combined with methotrexate. It decreases the symptoms of psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis (moderate to severe ), and skin psoriasis. The medicine reduces the symptoms of ulcerative colitis or Crohn disease (moderate to severe) in patients when other treatment does not help. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to monoclonal antibodies. The medicine blocks the TNF action (tumor necrosis factor). This decreases the immune response and inflammation associated with TNF.
