Glycopyrrolate is a medicine to decrease secretions in the stomach, airway, mouth, and throat prior to surgery. It is used prior to and during surgery to protect against medical side effects and to stop some reflexes. It is also combined with some other medicines for the stomach ulcers treatment. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to anticholinergics. It stops the acetylcholine activity (a body chemical), thus reducing secretions and minimizing side effects of medicines, which may increase acetylcholine level in the body.
