Dantrium is a medicine to treat associated with nerve problems spasticity (spasms), including, spinal cord injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis or cerebral palsy. It may prevent or decrease the malignant hyperthermia risk (high body temperature, severe form) prior to or after anesthesia or surgery. It may also be used after high body temperature episodes (severe forms) in order to prevent recurrence. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to muscle relaxants. It affects substance release necessary for muscle contraction, or it normalizes calcium level in muscles, thus preventing or decreasing high body temperature (severe form).
