Capsaicin is a medicine for joint and muscle pain (caused by bruises, strains, backaches, sprains and arthritis) short-term relief. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to topical analgesics. It is not known how exactly it works, but it may reduce the level of substance P, which is the pain transmitter in the body.
