Budesonide is used to treat (long-term) and prevent asthma in children at the age of 1 to 8 years. It does not relieve an asthma attack. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to inhaled corticosteroids. It reduces the swelling and irritation of the bronchioles (breathing tubes), thus, controlling or preventing the symptoms of asthma.
