Axid is used for the prevention and treatment of ulcers. It is also used for the treatment of GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) and also to treat and maintain erosive esophagitis healing. It may also be used by your health care provider to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to histamine H2antagonists. It works by reducing acid in the stomach by blocking one of the chemicals (histamine) that stimulates the production of stomach acid.
