Atgam

Generic name: lymphocyte immune globulin / anti-thymocyte globulin

Atgam is used to treat kidney transplant rejection. It may be combined with certain medicines to postpone the kidney transplant rejection. The medicine may also be used to treat aplastic anemia (moderate to severe) in patients not able to have a bone marrow transplant.

It refers to lymphocyte-selective immunosuppressants. It lowers the action of certain blood cells being a part of the immune system (T lymphocytes).
