Anastrozole is used for the treatment of post-menopausal women with breast cancer, including women with the progression of cancer after tamoxifen therapy. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to aromatase inhibitors. It decreases the concentrations of estradiol in blood, which may decrease the growth of the tumor and its size.
