Generic name: guaifenesin / potassium guaiacolsulfonate
Allfen is used to relieve chest mucus and cough symptoms caused by cold, infections of respiratory tract, hay fever, or asthma. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions. It refers to the combination of two expectorant agents. It thins phlegm (lung mucus), so it is not so sticky and is easy to cough out. It makes cough productive and decreases congestion in the chest.
