Diabetes type 1is a form of diabetes mellitus. Generally it is caused because the immunity of the body destroys insulin secreting beta cells found in the pancreas. The body immune system performs the function of combating harmful bacteria and diseases, but in this case the immunity starts acting against the body and kills different body cells thus restricting insulin production in the body.

Diabetes type 1 was discovered in terms of one of its typical signs, glucose presence in urine, which causes a person to urinate more often and drink more water. Early diadnosis of type 1 diabetes is significant as it helps to treat the disease in a short period of time. But a treatment delay can result in further complications, which may negatively affect your everyday life.

Symptoms

An individual with diabetes type 1 can usually experience the following signs:

Thirst and frequent urination
The main symptom of diabetes type 1 is constant thirst as well as frequent urination. This happens as excessive sugar amounts in the blood lead to fluids loss from the tissues.

Extreme hunger
Insulin production stops completely or decreases and in such a way the cells of the body become deprived of sugar needed to produce energy. So to cope with the energy necessity a person fells hungry more frequently.

Fatigue
Lack of energy resulted from the loss of necessary sugars leads to fatigue and a feeling of anxiety and irritation.

Blurred vision
A rise in the levels of blood sugar can lead to the loss of fluids from your body. One of the results of elevated levels of blood sugar is represented by blurred vision and thus an individual becomes unable to see properly.

Weight loss
You may consider that appetite rise should actually lead to a weight increase and wonder how loss of weight can happen. You should remember that although you eat more, the food consumed is not transformed into energy because your muscles cannot store it in them. This results in muscle shrinkage and a person suffering from diabetes loses weight fast.

As it has already been mentioned, diabetes type 1 can result in further complications if it is not treated at an earlier stage. In fact, at later stages diabetes type 1 causes the release of chemicals named ketones in your body. Later stage symptoms of type 1 diabetes include panting or fast breathing, constant sleepiness, vomiting and abdominal pain. Sometimes hypertension and nausea have been noticed as the symptoms of diabetes type.
