Many humans use sunscreen only in the hot periods of the year, as in this time sun damage is more evident in suntan and sunburn forms. But we are also disposed to a UV damage in winter time. Though the index of UV might be much lower, still the sun rays can bounce off snowfalls and result in skin damage.

The index of UV is a huge factor as well. It offers a kind of guideline to the sun danger level. The index asseses the UV amount that reaches the Earth at some particular time. And the higher the amount, the facter the skin damage can happen. This means that the higher the index of UV the faster the damage is.

No matter the different types of skin UV rays damage skin of every human being. It is important to remember that fairer skin can burn facter, this can lead to quicker skin damage particularly if the skin is unprotected. Among other risk conditions we can mention a melanoma history, freckles, individuals living at high altitudes are more predisposed to this disease.

Children and the elderly are more predisposed to different skin damages the sun can provoke. To prevent skin damage is extremely important for protecting yourself from skin cancer. Sunburns as well as suntans can result in skin cancer, but they are not the only reasons for skin cancer.
