Thorazine

Thorazine refers to phenothiazines. It affects some chemical action in brain.

The medicine treats treat psychotic disorders like manic-depression, schizophrenia, and also behavioral problems in children (severe form). It may treat vomiting/nausea, anxiety prior to surgery, acute intermittent porphyria, tetanus symptoms, and chronic hiccups.

Your physician may use the medicine to treat certain other conditions not listed here.

Contact the physician in case of serious side effects, including uncontrollable movements of lips, eyes, legs, arms, and face. It may lead to some dangerous side-effects. It is not used to treat dementia conditions. It may be the cause of sudden death, pneumonia, heart failure in older adults with dementia. Avoid using it in case of bone marrow depression, brain damage, if you take medicine making you sleepy. It should be avoided if you have allergy to chlorpromazine or phenothiazines.

Notify the physician if you have liver/kidney/heart disease, glaucoma, high blood pressure, breathing problems (severe), breast cancer, low calcium, adrenal gland tumor, urination problems, enlarged prostate , Parkinson’s disease.
