Nolvadex is a medicine to treat breast cancer having metastases to the body.
It is also combined with some other medicines for breast cancer treatment. It is used in women having breast cancer risk and in women having DCIS after radiation and surgery to reduce the risk of breast cancer development. It may also be used by your physician to treat certain other conditions.
It refers to antiestrogens. The medicine blocks estrogen effect on some tumors. This prevents the tumor growth (estrogen-activated).
It should be avoided if you have allergy to any Nolvadex ingredients,
you have blood clots history in the legs or lung,
you take anticoagulants,
anastrozole.
You should contact your health care provider or physician immediately if you experience any side effects.
Women using the medicine to reduce breast cancer risk may develop uterus cancer, stroke and lung blood clots. Notify the doctor in case of having abnormal menstrual period, unusual vaginal discharge or bleeding, groin pain or pressure, breath shortness, chest pain, confusion, coughing up blood, speech or vision problems, one-sided weakness.
