Lioresal is used to treat muscle spasms (severe form) associated with injuries of spinal cord or brain, multiple sclerosis or other causes.
It refers to antispastic and relaxant combination. It lowers the seriousness and frequency of muscle spasms caused by some neurological problems, including multiple sclerosis.
It should be avoided if you have allergy to any Lioresal ingredients.
You should contact your health care provider or physician immediately if you experience any side effects.
You should not stop taking it suddenly. It may cause serious side effects, which include confusion, high fever, mental changes, multiple organ failure, muscle spasms and stiffness, and even death. Get medical help if you have any of these symptoms. Do not stop it suddenly. You should know how to use the pump properly, refill it and to be aware of pump alarms, and what to do if it alarms. It is very important for patients at risk (with communication difficulties, spinal cord injuries, baclofen withdrawal). Keep your refill visits and contact the physicial about early withdrawal systems.
