Cipro refers to fluoroquinolones. The medicine is an antibiotic that fights bacteria.

Your physician may use the medicine to treat certain other conditions not listed here.
Do not use it together with tizanidine or if you have an allergy to ciprofloxacin or the like medicines. It should not be used together with dairy products or calcium-fortified juice as they may decrease the effect of ciprofloxacin. These dairy products and juice may be taken with refular meals though.
Tell the physician in case of having liver/kidney diseases, diabetes, joint problems, seizures, hypokalemia, myasthenia gravisor, or “Long QT syndrome” history.
Vitamins, minerals, sucralfate, antacids, didanosine should not be taken 6 hours prior or 2 hours after taking this medicine. They may reduce ciprofloxacin effect. The medicine may be the cause of tendon tear or swelling, especially in the heel tendon. Patients above 60, taking steroids, with transplantants in heart/kidney/lung are at higher risk. In case of having swelling, sudden pain, stiffness, tenderness or movement problems contact the physician.
