Biaxin refers to macrolide antibiotics. The medicine fights bacteria.
It treats various bacterial infections affecting respiratory system and skin. It is also combined with some other medicines for the stomach ulcers treatment.
Your physician may use the medicine to treat certain other conditions not listed here.
Biaxin should be taken as prescribed by the physician. It is normally taken 7-14 days. The medicine may relieve the symptoms before the complete treatment of infection. It is not effective against flu or cold.
Also consult your physician in case of allergy signs, including breathing difficulty; hives, face swelling. Contact the physician in case of serious side effects, including dark urine, bloody/watery diarrhea, clay-colored stool; uneven heartbeat, chest pain; stomach pain, nausea, fever, appetite loss, jaundice, sore throat, headache, red skin rash.
You may also experience less serious side effects like stomach pain (mild), vomiting, nausea, upset stomach, diarrhea, tooth discoloration, unusual/unpleasant taste in the mouth, headache, dizziness, confusion, anxiety, skin rash, vaginal discharge/itching.
