Atacand-HCTZ

Hydrochlorothiazide refers to thiazide diuretics. It prevents excess salt absorption.

Candesartan refers to angiotensin II receptor antagonists. It prevents narrowing or blood vessels. It improves the flow of blood and decreases blood pressure.

Their combination is effective for high blood pressure.

Your physician may use the medicine to treat certain other conditions not listed here.

It should be avoided while pregnancy.The medicine may impair reactions or thinking. Be careful while driving. Do not drink alcohol.

Also consult your physician in case of allergy signs, including breathing difficulty, hives, face swelling. Rarely it may cause skeletal muscle tissue breakdown, resulting in kidney failure Contact the physician in case of serious side effects, including chest pain, short breath, swelling, fever, rapid weight gain, increased thirst, jaundice, dry mouth, drowsiness, confusion, restless, decreased/increased urination, irregular heart rate, fainting, convulsions.

You may also experience less serious side effects like back pain, stomach pain, drowsiness, dizziness, runny/stuffy nose, headache, dry cough, sore throat.
