Albendazole is an anthelmintic medicine. It prevents worms from multiplying/growing.
It is effective against dog/pork tapeworms.
Your physician may use the medicine to treat certain other conditions not listed here.
Avoid the medicine in case of allergy to albendazole.
Notify the physician if you have liver disease or have allergy to some drugs.
It should be avoided while pregnancy. It should be taken with food. The medicine should be taken as prescribed by the physician. The medicine may relieve the symptoms before the complete treatment of infection. It is not effective against flu or cold.
It may decrease blood cells, which help in fighting infections. You should regularly take blood tests. Also consult your physician in case of allergy signs, including breathing difficulty, hives, face swelling. Contact the physician in case of serious side effects, including easy bleeding/bruising, weakness, sore throat, fever, headache, red skin rash, body aches, or symptoms of cold.
You may also experience less serious side effects like headache, stomach pain, dizziness, vomiting, nausea, hair loss (temporary).
