Topamax

Topamax refers to anticonvulsant (seizure medication). It is taken alone or combined with some medicines for seizure prevention in adults and children above 2.

The medicine also prevents migraine headaches. It prevents migraine headaches only, reduces their frequency. It does not stop the headache in process.

Your physician may use the medicine to treat certain other conditions not listed here.

Get medical help in case of sudden vision changes, or pain behind your eyes. It may be serious side-effects. It should not be discontinued prior to contacting the physician. Sudden stop may cause negative side effects. You have to decrease the doze gradually. Contact the physician if it does not help.

It may cause suicidal thoughts while using it. Do not miss the physician’s appointments.

Contact the physician in case of worsening of symptoms, including: anxiety, changes of mood/behavior, panic attacks, sleep problems, irritation, agitation, aggression, restlessness, hyperactivity, increased depression, suicidal thoughts. Notify all the physicians treating you that you take a seizure medicine. The medicine may impair reactions or vision. Be careful while driving. Do not drink alcohol.
