Glucotrol

Glucotrol refers to sulfonylureas. The medicine controls the levels of blood sugar.

It may treat diabetes of type II together with insulin therapy, exercise and a proper diet.

Your physician may use the medicine to treat certain other conditions not listed here.

The medicine may increase the cardiovascular death risk. Discuss the risks with the physician.

Low blood sugar symptoms include headache, hunger, irritability, confusion, drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, fainting, sweating, tremors, fast heartbeat, convulsions, or coma. You should have a source of sugar for these symptoms.

Do exercises, have a diet and take the medicine regularly. Any change may affect the levels of blood sugar.

It should not be discontinued prior to contacting the physician. Do not drink alcohol. It decreases blood sugar and affects the treatment. You should swallow the tablets whole (no chewing, crushing or dividing). Also consult your physician in case of allergy signs, including breathing difficulty, hives, face swelling.
