Tamiflu

Tamiflu refers to antivirals. It blocks the influenza actions of types A and B virus in the body.

The medicine treats flu symptoms associated with flu in patients with the symptoms lasting more than 2 days. It may also prevent flu in people having had exposure to virus but having no symptoms yet. It does not treat usual cold.

Your physician may use the medicine to treat certain other conditions not listed here.

Notify the physician if you had nasal flu vaccine (within 14 days), heart/kidney/lung diseases, other serious health disorders. Notify the physician if you have conditions, which cause swelling or brain disorder.

Start the treatment at the beginning of the symptoms like chills, fever, sore throat, running nose, muscle ache.

Follow the doctor’s prescription. Do not discontinue taking the medicine. The medicine may relieve the symptoms before the complete treatment of infection. It may cause some side-effects like delirium, sudden confusion, unusual behavior, or self-injury, hallucinations. The symptoms usually occur in children. There is no proof if the symptoms were caused by the medicine. Contact the physician if the child using the medicine develops any such symptoms.
